Privacy Policy

Betterjob now has two parts: this site, betterjob.id, where you can join the waitlist; and the app at app.betterjob.id, where you create an account and search for jobs. This page explains what each part collects and what happens to it.
What this site collects
The email address you enter in the waitlist form, and your language choice (ID or EN) so we know which language to write to you in.
Your IP address is read briefly when the form is submitted, purely to limit repeated submissions from one source. It is not stored alongside your email.
What we collect when you create an account
Your email address and a password. The password travels over an encrypted connection and is used only to create and check your account; the site itself never stores it, and we never show it back to you.
A display name, if you give one — it is optional, and you can change or clear it at any time from your profile.
A referral code, if you enter one when signing up. Your account also gets a referral code of its own, along with a count of how many people have used it.
The search sentences you write are sent to our server so the AI can read them and turn them into a job search.
We do not currently ask for a resume, phone number, address, date of birth, or any identity document. The app has no file upload at all.
What stays on your device
A session cookie named betterjob_session marks you as signed in. It is httpOnly — page JavaScript cannot read it — and expires at most 8 hours after you sign in.
A betterjob_locale cookie remembers your language choice.
The jobs you save, the applications you record yourself, and your last 25 searches are kept in your browser's localStorage. All of it stays on that device: it is never sent to our servers, does not follow you to another device, and disappears if you clear site data.
We use no tracking cookies, load no advertising pixels, and run no third-party analytics scripts.
Where your data goes
This site and the app run on third-party hosting infrastructure, and accounts and searches are handled by Betterjob's own server at api.betterjob.id. Waitlist email addresses are held by the email provider we use to manage that list. Some of these may process data outside Indonesia.
The job listings we show come from public job boards. When you press apply, we send you to the employer's own site or to the original board — the application itself, and anything you type there, is covered by their privacy policy rather than ours.
We never sell, rent, or trade your data to anyone.
How long we keep it
Your session ends at most 8 hours after you sign in. Anything kept in your browser stays until you remove it, either with the delete controls inside the app or by clearing site data.
Waitlist email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. Account data is kept while your account is open, and removed once you ask us to close it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to close your account. Your display name and password you can change yourself at any time from your profile, and every email we send carries an unsubscribe link.

Changes
If Betterjob starts collecting something this page does not already name — your resume, for instance — this policy will be updated before that happens, not after.
